GRIEF, LOSS & TRAUMA THERAPY

There are numerous ways that we experience grief, loss and trauma such as the ending of a relationship, miscarriage, the death of a person close to us, “empty nest” a term used when our children leave the family home, a diagnosis for ourselves or others including terminal or mental illness and even when a person contemplates retirement, moving house or countries.

The feelings associated with grief, loss and trauma are numerous and multi-faceted and can include a deep sense of loss and sadness, crying, social withdrawal, a sense of hopelessness and can interfere with an individual’s personal interpersonal, social and/or occupational functioning.  A psychologist can assist you these and many other symptoms to help you to understand your emotions, manage your thoughts, feelings and behaviours, resolve the dysfunctional or unhelpful thoughts and behaviours, and create a better quality of life.

At Serenity we provide a safe and empathetic environment for you to explore yourself and foster your self-awareness to allow you to be self-nurturing and compassionate in your recovery of grief, loss and trauma.
