Premature Ejaculation

PE is often thought of as a lack of sensory awareness that is posited to begin early in puberty. Males who experience PE can have numerous secondary psychological symptoms including feelings of low self-worth, defectiveness, fear and anxiety. Likewise there can be a negative impact on the person’s relationship with others in an intimate setting. This causes additional distress for a person experiencing PE. Many men experience difficulties with sexuality and one of those issues we will discuss is premature ejaculation. If all the physical causes of PE have been explored by a medical practitioner, it is not uncommon for the person to be referred to a psychologist.

Female Sexual Problems

Sexual dysfunctions are disorders that interfere with a full sexual response cycle and whilst rarely threatens physical health, it can have a negative psychological impact such as depression, anxiety and debilitating feelings of inadequacy.  A women may have a sexual problem if she experiences pain during sexual interaction, lacks or loses sexual desire, has difficulty achieving orgasm, feels anxiety at the thought of engaging in sexuality, notices vaginal or other muscles contract involuntarily before, or during sex. If all the physical causes have been explored by a medical practitioner, it is not uncommon for the person to be referred to a specialist team including a psychologist.
